Repeated use of an air-fryer is only going to lead to a build up of grease and grime over time.

While you may think you're getting rid of the grease when you give the air-fryer a wipe, sometimes a deep clean is needed.

Taking to the social media platform of TikTok, one woman revealed her "favourite cleaning hack" for making the air-fryer sparkling clean.

On the video, Jessica said: "This is my favourite, effortless cleaning hack for when it comes to cleaning my air-fryer."

Jessica said "all you need" is one cup of bicarbonate of soda and a squeeze of washing-up liquid to put in the air-fryer basket.

Then you add boiling water from the kettle and "leave for 20 minutes"; afterwards, Jessica promised: "You will see how much grease has lifted."

The cleaning enthusiast said: "You now have an effortless clean with four times less scrubbing.

"All you need to do now to finish cleaning your air-fryer is to give it a light little scrub and then rinse."

Jessica advised: "Make sure everything is completely dry before putting it back together."

Once done, Jessica described her air-fryer as "shiny, squeaky clean and ready to feed the family again".

While Jessica's tip will definitely give the air-fryer a deep clean, the habit of washing the kitchen appliance after every use might be good to do.
